Hexahome is a modular housing system inspired by the current refugee crisis in Europe. Button Studios in collaboration with Outsyde Projects has taken an Open Source design system called the Hexayurt and engineered it for cold climates. The original Hexayurt system was invented by Vinay Gupta as a flexible temporary shelter for regions in crisis. ​The Hexahome is an attempt to convert the Hexayurt into a warm, secure, and lasting home designed for cold climates.
